A bit about my professional journey: I started my career right after graduating with a degree in Agricultural Science, focusing on tobacco cultivation. After a decade with British American Tobacco, I joined Philip Morris International, where I delved into research and development. My team’s work contributed to innovations in tobacco processing that enhanced flavor profiles while maintaining a commitment to environmental sustainability. My experiences have not only broadened my understanding of tobacco but also allowed me to witness firsthand the global cultural significance of tobacco.
Throughout my career, I’ve been honored with several awards, including the “Innovator in Tobacco Cultivation” award at the Global Tobacco Conference in 2018, recognizing my contributions to sustainable farming practices. Another proud moment was receiving the “Tobacco Science Research Award” in 2020 for my work on enhancing natural flavors in tobacco leaves without genetic modification.
Currently, I reside in the beautiful, rolling hills of North Carolina, USA, a place with a rich tobacco heritage that continues to inspire me every day. Living here allows me to stay connected to the roots of traditional American tobacco culture while engaging with the latest trends and innovations in the industry.
Outside of my professional life, I’m an avid collector of vintage tobacco pipes and a weekend hobbyist in blending my own tobacco mixtures. There’s something profoundly meditative about the process, and it connects me on a personal level to the craft.
